When The Calgary Airport Authority’s new International Terminal opens on October 31, 2016, it will include many innovative technologies and systems so that YYC can continue to provide a great experience for passengers.
To do this, the new two million square-foot facility must undergo an array of trials prior to welcoming passengers on opening day. One of these trials is called a passenger boarding bridge fitcheck. In this series of trials, aircraft pull up to one of the new 25 passenger boarding bridges to ensure that they work with the various aircraft types and can load and unload passengers safely and efficiently.
To see this trial up-close and personal, we recently took a trip over to the new terminal and filmed the process from start to finish. Take a look!
