YYC Welcomes Additional WestJet Charter Services to the Terminal

March 31, 2017   |

(Calgary, AB) - WestJet will begin flying its charter services to one of northern Alberta’s oil sands operations out of the Domestic Terminal at YYC Calgary International Airport on April 2. These charters, which link YYC to a corporate aerodrome near Fort McMurray, support one of the largest oil sands operators in Alberta and will bring thousands of additional passengers through the airport terminal every month.

“This service is an important linkage for a key industry in Alberta’s economy. We congratulate our partner WestJet on their continued business growth here at YYC, as we welcome their newest guests to our terminal,” said Bob Sartor, President and CEO of The Calgary Airport Authority.

The move of the flights to YYC’s main terminal provides the charter passengers with the opportunity to enjoy the various shops, dining and service options available at YYC.

“WestJet views the Calgary International Airport as a key partner in providing travellers with the same care as our renowned airline experience, “ said Bob Cummings, WestJet Executive Vice-President, Commercial. “We are proud to provide a caring experience to our charter guests that will now be more seamless and offer them additional services through the Calgary International Airport."
