Remembrance Day Ceremony at YYC Calgary International Airport

What:
On Saturday, November 11, The YYC Calgary International Airport will host a Remembrance Day ceremony for airport travellers and employees who wish to pause and remember those who have served in past conflicts, and honour the men and women who serve our country today.

Who:
The airport community Honour Guard will include uniformed representatives from Calgary Police Service, RCMP, Calgary Fire Department, Calgary Emergency Medical Services, Royal Air Force, British Army, British Air Force, Canadian Corp of Commissionaires, Royal Canadian Air Cadets, Canada Border Services Agency and the United States Department of Homeland Security Customs and Border Protection.

Speakers:

  • Constable Mike Bertin (Retired), Master of Ceremonies and Parade Commander
  • Michael Casey, QC, Board Director, The Calgary Airport Authority
  • Joey Belviss, Chief Administrative Officer, The Calgary Poppy Fund

Departures Level in front of Montana’s – (Domestic Terminal)

Time
Saturday, November 11, 2017 at 10:45 a.m. – Ceremony begins with formation of the Calgary International Pipe Band and Honour Guard.

Availability with speakers immediately following the ceremony. We ask that you please RSVP to Media@yyc.com. Media arriving at YYC Calgary International Airport are required to park in designated media parking areas. Marked spaces are located on the Departures Level roadway, adjacent to Door 12.
