The Calgary Airport Authority welcomes RBC as its newest major sponsor

October 06, 2022   |

Calgary, Alberta—The Calgary Airport Authority welcomes its newest sponsor to YYC, Royal Bank of Canada, with a large-scale, multi-year sponsorship agreement—part of The Authority’s plan to secure major partnerships that will help shape the future of YYC.

RBC is the first major sponsor in YYC’s new partnership program, which provides a tailored airport experience by identifying spaces at YYC that engage guests. The partner program continues to identify additional platforms for engagement that will introduce brands into the heart of the consumer journey, all while growing revenue that will enable YYC to better deliver remarkable guest experiences and drive value to airline partners.

About the sponsorship:

RBC’s strong relationship with WestJet makes YYC an excellent fit for its first major airport sponsorship. The brand’s like-minded approach to being creative and collaborative will come to life as RBC’s brand story extends to the walls and spaces of YYC.

Sponsorship activations will be seen on YYC’s Wi-Fi landing page, passenger boarding bridges, and security revesting areas. Additionally, there will be a new priority security lane, exclusive to YYC and available for WestJet RBC World Elite MasterCard holders.

“We’re thrilled to welcome RBC as a major sponsor and look forward to working closely with them—at both a national and regional level—throughout this multi-year sponsorship and into the future. It’s exciting to collaborate with RBC to unlock even more potential at YYC.” – Tim Barnes, Senior Director, Commercial Services for The Authority.

“With travel volumes continuing to rise, we’re pleased to team up with YYC. It’s a great opportunity to create new, engaging experiences for those travellers making Calgary part of their journey. With an airport that welcomes millions of visitors every year, we look forward to introducing them to all RBC has to offer.” – Jeff Boyd, Regional President for Alberta and the Territories, RBC

Installation has begun and elements of the sponsorship will remain for up to five years. The agreement is also thanks to our partners TTG and Pattison.
