A New Logo
The Calgary Airport Authority and Calgary International Airport have a new logo, reflecting an image that is bold, modern and straightforward. It is derived from the airport's call letters, signifying the important role that the entire airport community plays in delivering Calgary's famous western hospitality to the world. The colour Red was chosen to illustrate our connection to the City of Calgary and the new look is a reflection of YYC's growing reputation for efficiency, innovation and partnerships. It starts here at YYC.
“YYC contributes $6 billion of GDP to the City of Calgary and we take our responsibilities for airport operation and development very seriously,” said Garth Atkinson, President and CEO of The Calgary Airport Authority. “We have had another year of great news announcements; we continue to offer Alberta's most extensive passenger service network and the most successful air cargo platform in the province. Our new Strategic Operating Plan, combined with our community approach to meeting our customer's needs, will continue to keep YYC at the forefront of our industry.”
Despite fluctuating economic cycles, YYC continues to be a bright spot in the global network. Recent announcements have included The Calgary Airport Authority being named one of Alberta's Top 40 employers, Mexicana Airlines flights from YYC four times a week, Lufthansa Airlines beginning daily service from YYC to Frankfurt, and most recently, YYC was chosen by UPS, the world's largest package delivery company, for a major $26 million distribution centre. YYC is clearly the destination of choice for passengers, airlines and cargo and logistics operators.
