December is one of the busiest times of the year at Calgary International Airport (YYC). Despite the extra hustle and bustle this holiday season, visitors to the airport will be sure to have a festive time. Due to unpredictable weather and road conditions, and increased passengers volumes, we recommend that travellers arrive early during the holiday travel season. Those who arrive with some additional time will not only be able to enjoy YYC’s over 135 shops and services, but will have the opportunity to experience a variety of holiday activities.

While visiting YYC over the holidays, be sure to check out one of the choirs or quartets performing throughout the airport. You’ll also have the opportunity to be amazed at the creativity within the airport community by enjoying YYC’s Festival of Trees, which are located throughout the airport and decorated in a variety of themes. Didn’t have time to wrap that last-minute gift? We’ve got you covered. Volunteers will be wrapping presents behind security for those travelling through Concourses A and C from December 19-24.

Do you have the little ones with you on your travels? Santa is arriving at YYC on December 12 and 13 to take photos with children and give away some great gifts.  Mrs. Claus will be also dropping into YYC to read stories to children in Concourses A and C from December 19 - 24 – she may even have some delicious treats for those gathering to listen to the stories of the season. And don’t forget to look for Mr. Grinch, he’ll be with The Whos from Whooville, while spreading his special brand of holiday spirit

So whether you’re dropping someone off or travelling to visit your loved ones this season, YYC will have a little something to help make your holidays even brighter.
