Summer 2019: Returning flights to YYC

Get ready YYC, Summer 2019 is just around the corner and some seasonal routes to popular destinations are returning!

Make way for Japan! Air Canada is bringing back its longest route from YYC, daily non-stop flights to Tokyo Narita International Airport from March 31 until late October. Travelers can experience one of the most technologically advanced cities in the world this year. Japan is known for its unique food, friendly people, and its traditional yet contemporary culture. Narita Airport serves as a hub to connect passengers to various hot spots around Asia and Oceania.

Aeromexico and The Calgary Airport Authority are celebrating the return of the Calgary to Mexico City route four times per week from May 31 until September. This destination is known for its world-class art scene, exclusive culinary experiences and historical museums. Passengers can also use Mexico City as a hub to connect to virtually any major airport in Latin America.

British Airways is again taking YYC's guests to Europe's busiest airport, London Heathrow, with non-stop daily from March 31 through the end of October. London itself needs no introduction, as we all know Big Ben, the London Eye and Piccadilly Circus give travelers an invitation to a modern-day Britain worth visiting. Passengers landing at Heathrow can connect to the entire world as British Airways flies to more than 200 destinations in 75 countries across the globe.

Edelweiss Air, a subsidiary of Swiss, will be flying two times weekly direct starting May 30 from Calgary to Zurich, Switzerland until September. The city is not only one of Europe's largest financial centres, but travelers can enjoy the country's natural beauty and sought-after products such as luxurious watches and Swiss chocolate. Zurich International Airport acts as a hub for Swiss Air Lines and connects to many major destinations in Europe and Asia.

Want to fly to Europe direct from YYC with Air Transat? The low-cost leisure airline is bringing back flights three times weekly to London Gatwick Airport starting April 17 until the end of September and to Amsterdam Schiphol Airport once a week from May 30 to mid-September. Air Transat currently serves various sun destinations from YYC but for a limited time, they have added these two European destinations for the backpacker in all of us.

Germany's largest leisure airline Condor is bringing back its direct flight to Frankfurt three to four times weekly from May 31 until the end of September. Germany is not only known for Oktoberfest and Bratwurst; but its beautiful architecture, colourful landscapes and old-fashioned monuments that bring out the best of its rich heritage. Frankfurt is recognized for its futuristic skyline, along with the busiest airport in Germany that easily connects passengers throughout Europe and Asia.

Known for its rich French Canadian history and European flavour, Quebec City offers a cultural experience unique within North America. WestJet will once again be offering non-stop service from YYC to the Quebec capital from June 28 until September 2. YYC is proud to be the only airport in Western Canada with non-stop service to Quebec City.
