Experience Calgary’s destination restaurant Yakima Social Kitchen + Bar at the Calgary International Airport. Offering a locally inspired menu, featuring items that are meticulously handcrafted. Every ingredient has a purpose, that is carefully and precisely placed by our culinarians on every single plate. Many of our menu components are inspired by the fruits of our land; from game meats, to berries, to Alberta harvested grain, all of which are showcased through a unique blend of Asian, Indigenous, and North American influences. Executive chef Kai Cronsfoth originally from Germany, started his career in 2001 in his hometown of Bad Neuenahr – Ahrweiler, Germany. Progressive positions in restaurants and hotel kitchens from Europe to the Caribbean have provided Kai the foundation for a bright future in the culinary world. Kai’s menus are inspired by local ingredients and global cuisines. No stranger to find dining he has worked in Michelin starred restaurants and delights in presenting dishes that will challenge diners. He has prepared elegant culinary creations for Royalty and Celebrities. Kai is now making his North American debut in Calgary, Alberta. The restaurant concept is based on local features and is nature inspired, with blends of texture and color! The name is based on the Yakima Valley Legend that tells the story of how the Chinook Winds became to be.
