Calgary International Airport to Fill Hundreds of Positions as it Prepares for New Terminal Opening

Looking to land a career at one of Canada’s busiest airports? The Calgary Airport Authority is opening a new International Terminal and YYC employers are looking to hire hundreds of people to fill roles from curb to gate, in Canada’s newest and most technologically advanced terminal in the country.

Several airport partners will be participating in the YYC Career Fair on Wednesday, August 17, 2016 from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the Coast Plaza Hotel (1316 33 St. NE), looking to hire in a variety of areas such as operations, security, customer service, food and retail, and more.

“Despite challenging economic times in the city, YYC continues to be at the centre of growth and opportunity for Calgary and the region,” said Garth Atkinson, President and CEO of The Calgary Airport Authority. “YYC already employs over 24,000 people in the community and is responsible for creating more than 48,000 jobs. The opening of the new terminal means more people will have the opportunity to join the growing business at YYC and become part of our world-renowned Team YYC.”

Calgary International Airport welcomed nearly 15.5 million passengers in 2015 and continues to announce increases in the extensive passenger and cargo networks currently at YYC, in addition to new airlines and new destinations. The new International Terminal will open on October 31, 2016, and will add over two-million square feet to the existing terminal, 50 new retail and restaurant locations and includes leading-edge connections processes, including the YYC LINK, electric passenger shuttle.
