Full-Scale Mock Exercise at YYC on September 7

September 05, 2017   |

The Calgary Airport Authority in conjunction with its agency and airline partners, are holding a full-scale mock exercise at YYC Calgary International Airport on Thursday, September 7.

The Authority holds numerous table top exercises and smaller mock exercises throughout the year, and in-between its larger scale events, in order to ensure the Authority and its many airport partners are regularly testing their well-defined plans.

This simulated exercise will take place on the airfield and has been well-planned to ensure guests to YYC will experience little or no impact. However, there may be some unusual activity in the Domestic Terminal such as volunteers acting as meeters and greeters on the Departures Level. Visitors and people in the airport area may also see volunteers, emergency vehicles and first responders on airport approach roads.

These full-scale exercises are a valuable learning tool in testing our extensive emergency response plans, which are focused on working with our various partners to ensure the continued safety of all travelling public, airport employees and partners.
