Calgary, Alberta (March 20, 2019) - The Calgary Airport Authority, in conjunction with its agency and airline partners, are holding are private and closed emergency exercise at YYC Calgary International Airport on Thursday, March 21 from approximately 8:30 p.m. to 12:00 a.m.
The simulated exercise has been well-planned to ensure guests to YYC will experience minimal impact, however passengers may notice:
- The departures level curb will be closed from doors 14-17 for emergency vehicles. Traffic will be re-routed to another lane.
- First responders in the terminal, notably near international departures and the mezzanine level of the domestic terminal.
- Emergency vehicles on airport approach roads.
- Media may also hear encrypted emergency scanner communication.
The Authority holds numerous table top exercises and smaller mock exercises throughout the year, in order to ensure the airport and its many partners are regularly testing their well-defined plans.

Avis : La Calgary Airport Authority tiendra un exercice d'urgence fermé le 21 mars – Opération « Rolling Thunder »
Calgary (Alberta) – le 20 mars 2019 – De concert avec ses organismes et transporteurs partenaires, la Calgary Airport Authority tiendra un exercice d’urgence privé et fermé le jeudi 21 mars 2019 entre environ 8 h 30 et 12 h à YYC, l’aéroport international de Calgary.
Cet exercice de simulation a été bien planifié de manière à causer le moins de dérangements possible aux invités de YYC. Cependant, les passagers constateront ce qui suit :
- le trottoir du niveau des départs sera fermé des portes 14 à 17 pour les véhicules d’intervention d’urgence. La circulation sera réacheminée vers une autre file;
- des premiers intervenants dans l’aérogare, surtout près des départs des vols internationaux et sur la mezzanine de l’aérogare des vols intérieurs;
- des véhicules d’intervention d’urgence sur les voies d’accès à l’aéroport.
La Calgary Airport Autority fait plusieurs exercices sur table et exercices d’essai plus petits dans le courant de l’année dans le but de s’assurer que l’aéroport et ses nombreux partenaires vérifient régulièrement leurs processus bien définis.
