Travelling with Pets

The airport is a busy place with lots of new sights and sounds, so for the safety of our four-legged friends we request that pets be kept in an airline approved travel kennel while in the terminals.

Animals that do not require a kennel while in the terminal building include:

  • Service animals
  • Guide dogs
  • Dogs used by enforcement agencies, such as customs or police officers.

Dog Relief Areas

Dog relief areas are available outside of the terminal buildings. There are three areas located on the Arrivals Level outside Door 1, Door 9 and Door 17.

YYC Calgary International Airport is one of the first airports in Canada to have an in-terminal pet relief area, which opened at the beginning of April. The area is located post-security in Concourse B adjacent to Gate B34 in the Domestic Terminal Building.

We ask that all owners pick up after their pets; waste disposal bags are provided.
