General Resume Tips

How do I apply for a job?

All of our opportunities are posted online. Applicants can upload their resume and cover letter on the Careers page by clicking on the apply tab in the job posting.

Do you accept general applications? If so, how do I apply?

Yes. Although we prefer applicants to apply to specific job postings, general applications can be sent to our mailing address or faxed to the above number. They can also be emailed to resumes@yyc.com.

I am interested in several positions. Do I need to apply for each one?

Yes, please apply to each one separately as the emails go directly to the hiring supervisor.

Will I receive an e-mail confirmation that The Calgary Airport Authority has received my application?

You will receive an automated email confirming your application has been received.

When will I be contacted?

If you are shortlisted, you should receive a call within one week of the posting closing.

Do applicants have to go through skill testing or medical testing?

Yes, aptitude assessments and technical skills testing are standard for all positions at the Authority. Medical and alcohol/drug testing is required for successful candidates of safety sensitive positions.

Do you have summer employment or co-op employment opportunities?

Yes. Summer positions are posted in January and February for May start dates and co-op opportunities are posted as they become available. Click on Student opportunities for more information and postings.

How long will my resume be kept on file?

We keep resumes on file for 12 months.

What if I update my resume? Will you replace the resume on file?

Yes, but it is preferable to apply to each individual competition as your resume goes directly to the hiring supervisor.

Can I reapply to a job?

Yes; experiences and circumstances change.

Do I require Canadian experience?

When considering candidates, we look for relevant work experience, regardless of where it may have taken place.

Does The Calgary Airport Authority accept education and training courses completed outside of Canada?

Yes; however, if an accreditation is required for the position and your education is not recognized locally, you may be required to obtain the equivalency.
