CALGARY — For the 16th year, Calgary Airports has been named one of Alberta’s Top 85 Employers for 2025. The recognition follows a year in which employee feedback informed Calgary Airports’ ongoing efforts to enhance workplace culture and support day‑to‑day operations across its airports.
“It’s our Crew who earn the accolades on this year-over-year achievement. People here are powered by heart. Receiving this recognition reflects what our people make possible every day,” says Kirstan Jewell, the Chief People and Communications Officer at Calgary Airports. “Whether it’s keeping operations moving during a snowstorm, making airport experiences better, or flipping pancakes to welcome guests during Stampede, their commitment shows up in ways travellers may not always see, but do always feel.”
Organizations selected for the list are evaluated on criteria including workplace culture, benefits, professional development and community involvement.
Over the last year, Calgary Airports employees have contributed to initiatives that have strengthened teamwork, collaboration, learning, belonging and well‑being across the organization. Many of these efforts came directly from ideas and conversations with employees about what supports their growth, what helps them feel connected and what allows them to do meaningful work.
Among the initiatives that have earned Calgary Airports this recognition include:
-
Employee‑driven culture and collaboration: Nearly 100 employees are engaged in cross‑functional working groups that shape organizational priorities, creating more autonomy and ensuring important decisions reflect diverse perspectives from across Calgary Airports.
-
Ongoing commitment to belonging and inclusion: With employee‑led inclusion initiatives, leadership training and expanding belonging and inclusion policies, Calgary Airports increased its Inclusion Index to 83 per cent in early 2025, with 84 per cent of employees saying they would recommend the organization as a great place to work.
-
Advancing Indigenous reconciliation: Regular cultural training, experiential learning opportunities and partnerships with Indigenous artists and knowledge keepers contribute to a more informed and inclusive workplace and guest experience.
-
Connection and community: Calgary Airports employees contribute hundreds of volunteer hours annually through partnerships with organizations including The Mustard Seed, Vecova and #NotInMyCity, while internal traditions such as Airport Workers Day, Friends & Family Day, Stampede and Year End celebrations help strengthen belonging across the organization.
Providing competitive compensation and professional development opportunities, a flexible hybrid work schedule and a comprehensive offering of employee perks and wellness supports, Calgary Airports offers a rewarding career dedicated to building one of Canada’s best airports.
