CALGARY — A day on the course is set to have lasting impact across Alberta after Calgary Airports and its partners raised more than $380,000 through the airport’s annual YYC Charity Golf Classic.
Funds raised at this year's event will support the Alberta Children's Hospital Foundation's efforts to advance child health and well-being through innovative programs, specialized care, research and family-centred initiatives. Proceeds will also support #NotInMyCity's work to raise awareness, prevent exploitation and mobilize communities in the fight against human trafficking.
"Being the airport of choice means showing up for our community in ways that extend beyond travel," says Chris Dinsdale, President and CEO of Calgary Airports. "The charities supported through this event are saving lives every day, and it's inspiring to see our airport community rally behind that work."
First established more than 20 years ago to recognize the partners that help keep YYC Calgary International Airport safe, secure and efficient, the YYC Charity Golf Classic has evolved into an annual fundraising event that supports charities across Alberta. Since 2024, the event has raised nearly $1 million for charity.
The YYC Charity Golf Classic is a cornerstone of YYC Wings, Calgary Airports' community investment program launched last year, which brings together charitable giving, sponsorships, volunteerism and strategic partnerships to strengthen communities and create lasting impact across the region.
"One of the things that makes this event special is that it brings together people from across our airport community," says Kirstan Jewell, Chief of People and Communications, Calgary Airports. "YYC Wings is about recognizing that we're able to do more together than we are on our own, and the support behind this golf classic is a great example of that."
