All pick-up options roll into the arrivals level at YYC

Friday, February 3, 2023 | Catgories:
News Release

CALGARY, ALBERTA – The Calgary Airport Authority has moved the location of the ground transportation service offerings for arriving guests to site specific locations on the Arrivals level.

Ride-share pick-up locations have moved from the Departures level to Doors, 3, 11 and 15 on the Arrivals level. The passenger pick-up zones have been expanded and are now between Doors 4 and 7 as well as 16 and 17. Guests looking for a sedan, can easily find this service at Arrivals Door 2, 13 and between 15 and 16.

“Guests arriving in Calgary have different needs when it comes to ground transportation,” said Rob Palmer, VP Commercial, Strategy & CFO. “That’s why we offer various options from ride-share, rental cars, city transit, taxi and sedan services. These convenient offerings reflect YYC’s growth and recovery now that passenger volumes are more predictable.”

Whether here on business, leisure or sightseeing, YYC transportation service offerings provide services to fit a number of budgets and travel needs. The Arrivals level is a busy place for families and friends to reunite, or for first-time visitors to find their way. That’s why we added passenger pick-up spots that are easy to find. For those staying longer, YYC offers affordable and convenient parking options in both covered parkades bookable online for a discount.

As on ongoing focus on guest experience, YYC would like to remind drivers of The Authority’s policy which requires drivers to remain with their vehicles and to move their vehicle immediately after pick-up or drop-off to maintain safety, security and traffic flow.

YYC took advantage of a quieter curb in 2020 to make enhancements such as new illuminated signage to assist drivers navigating their way to and from the terminal. We also improved the accessible vehicle loading areas for all abilities.

Another guest-focused change that came into effect yesterday is YYC’s partnership with two taxi service operators providing the largest combined fleet of accessible and sustainable vehicles in Calgary: Checker Cabs and Associated Cab. This first-time collaboration between Associated Cab and Checker Cabs will offer consistent service and diverse and available vehicle options for on-demand taxi services at YYC Calgary International Airport.

Checker Cabs and Associated Cab combined met all the requirements of an accessible, sustainable and large fleet with:

  • the most hybrid taxis in Calgary, emitting fewer greenhouse gases than a gasoline-powered vehicle.
  • the largest number of accessible vehicles available that can transport collapsible and non-collapsible wheelchairs and devices.
