CALGARY – Calgary Airports, formally known as The Calgary Airport Authority, has signed a grant agreement with Alberta Jobs, Economy, Trade and Immigration valued at $21.25 million. The grant will accelerate the development of YYC AeroNex by contributing to broader infrastructure investments that will strengthen Calgary’s position as a national leader in aviation, aerospace and logistics.
YYC AeroNex brings together a collection of strategic infrastructure projects designed to grow and support the region’s aviation and aerospace industry. The infrastructure will be available for use by aviation and aerospace projects, helping to create an ecosystem that attracts jobs, creating investments and equips them with the tools to thrive.
This funding is not just about building facilities—it’s about building economic momentum and unlocking strategic investment in Alberta now and into the future. By supporting the development of a full-scale aviation and aerospace investment hub, Calgary Airports continues to lay the foundation for a diversified, resilient economy that connects Alberta to the world.
“This marks another major step forward in establishing Calgary and Alberta as a leader in aviation,” says Chris Dinsdale, President and CEO of Calgary Airports. “The Government of Alberta’s support is instrumental in moving this vision ahead enabling us to bring critical aviation capabilities to Canada and laying the groundwork for sector growth and future investment.”
“Calgary Airports is a major driver of Alberta’s economy, supporting thousands of jobs for Albertans and contributing to the growth and diversification of our economic landscape. By investing more than $21 million today, we are supporting Calgary Airports in the important work they do and reinforcing our commitment to advancing the aviation and aerospace industry in our province.”
