CALGARY — Aug. 26, 2025: Calgary Airports teed up with partners, sponsors and supporters yesterday, hosting the annual YYC Charity Golf Classic and raising $356,700. Since 2018, the Classic has raised $820,715 for #NotInMyCity for efforts to end human trafficking in Canada.
The event also officially introduced Calgary Airports’ new community investment program, YYC Wings.
“YYC Wings reflects who we are and where we’re headed,” says Kirstan Jewell, Chief of People and Communications, Calgary Airports. “It’s not about doing more with more rather it’s about doing more, thoughtfully. Through YYC Wings, we’re aligning the support we already provide to causes such as #NotInMyCity, to ensure our collaborative efforts with our partners, sponsors and staff create tangible impacts on our community.”
The new program brings together the airport’s charitable giving, sponsorships, volunteerism and strategic partnerships under one banner, offering a clear framework for how YYC invests in the community through four community focus areas:
- Investing in aviation: Promoting education, career development and public engagement to inspire the next generation of aviation professionals.
- Local charities that uplift people: Supporting organizations that address causes such as food security, children’s welfare and environmental sustainability.
- Indigenous community investments: Investing in programs that build partnerships with Indigenous communities and celebrate Indigenous culture and talent.
- Supporting business partners’ community investments: Collaborating with airport partners to amplify shared goals and collective impact.
“Connecting people and places is what we do best,” says Calgary Airports President and CEO, Chris Dinsdale. “YYC Wings allows us to do that intentionally for an even greater impact on our region.”
